Julia's daily life takes place within very close boundaries. She lives alone with her mother who barely makes ends with her Job. She doesn't have many friends and at times even goes to bed hungry. But Julia always has to be inventive to get by, so no one will find out. When her mother meets Marcel, who lives as well in a precarious situation, she is not enthusiastic about first, but he supports her mother in daily life. Trough helping Leyla, a new pupil in her class, Julia turns away from her own problems and gets more communicativ. When her mother falls ill, Leyla helps with chickensoup from her home. Finally Julia's mother finds a new job-perspective and Julia can speak about her situation in school.
