Antanas Šimkus uses humour in his stories about Granny Stase. The book features episodes and events from the life of an elderly woman. The poet uses broken verse to show how “cool”, “wild” and “different” this granny is: she shovels snow in the yard of a block of flats, climbs the ladder in search of spring, she invents something unseen to rescue a cat and finds her own way to take pupils and the “statistical crowd” across the street. Daily problems and difficulties are just a piece of cake for this smart little woman. She is unrivalled even by the biggest pranksters.
