Interesting Slovak cultural and natural sights, places, personalities, and customs are interpreted through fairy tales, legends, parodies, and various myths. The author merges it all skilfully and with imagination at the same time. He is inspired by historical sources, referring frequently to them in an appropriate way, and quoting many of them. Almost photographically he points out (and often with contribution of photographs and illustrations) the contemporary state of "wonder", adding always a story of a man. Therefore, at some parts the book becomes even an adventurous narration. This publication is a tangible evidence that homeland study of high quality can be written in a different way, particularly if it is composed by the master of word who creates it with his heart. The book was awarded The Best Children's Book of the Fall 2013.
