There was once boy who lived in a large city. He had a mum and a dad, and they all lived in a treehouse. Povilas would often go to the bakery to buy buns. On his way, he would meet an orange fox that liked to swing on an old swing. When a fox appears in your life, anything can happen. This is a sensitive story about friendship, generosity, the sadness of loss and the joy discovery, by prolific writer Evelina Daciūtė (b. 1975) and talented illustrator Aušra Kiudulaitė (b. 1978). It is about what is most important to everyone, big and small. It is about happiness. The story is complemented by excellent illustrations, notable for their artistic quality, harmony of colours, and compositional ideas. It is one of the worthier children‘s publications from Lithuania.
“Happiness is a fox” was elected to Nami competition and Sharjah Book Authority finalist and the Bologna Children's Book Fair Illustrators. “Laimė yra lapė” won the main award in the category of children’s books of Lithuania’s Most beautiful Book Competition, also Diploma of Vilnius 2016 Book Art Competition. “Laimė yra lapė” was selected for the IBBY Honour List’2018.
