The Little Girl from the Tower is the story of a 10 year-old Ajka, who lives in an incomplete family: herself with her mother – an architect, in an exceptional and exciting environment of a restored tower on the edge of a small town. The little girl is surrounded by interesting people. Some of them are for example her friend, old geologist, aunt dealing with alternative medicine, a former military pilot who lives in Paris, but visits his relatives in the town, a circus boy with whom Ajka experiences the first love, and especially her mums friend, astronomer Daniel who first causes emotional confusion and the little girl runs from home, but later, as Daniel places a telescope at the top of the tower, and watches the night sky with Ajka, he gains the confidence of the little girl. The book seeks to draw children's sympathies towards the lives of children living in single-parent families, through the impressive story of their peer. The book won the award as The Most Beautiful Children's Book of the Fall 2011.
