The story of abandoned children Dafnis and Chloé who where found by shepherds and then brought up by them in the midst of beautiful nature. They grew up together at the pastures, in the shadows of groves and at the sunny hillsides. The children shepherded together flocks of goats and sheep, and became inseparable friends. They fell in love and they overcame traps of destiny by the help of gods and their own effort. The story develops sensitivity, awareness, imagination, and fantasy of the young reader. The author Beata Panáková retold the story in the contemporary language. She simplifies the extensive epic story in order to make it clear and comprehensible for the young reader. The book was awarded The Most Beautiful Book and The Best Children's Book of the Fall 2013, and a Diploma Paper as one of The Most beautiful books of Slovakia 2013.
