This picture book uses the techniques of traditional stories to tackle a tough subject in a light-hearted way: bullying.
Using the means for provoking laughter and bearing in mind that traditional stories put us in imaginary, fantasy worlds, the subject is tackled from a perspective that would otherwise have been impossible. Friends laugh at Silly-Billy again and again. When he realises that everyone is laughing at him, he thinks he should frighten them. He won’t find it an easy task, but in the end Silly-Billy surprises every one, and us, too.
The illustrations have been drawn in ink. Black is used mostly and there are only a few colours. What livens the book up are the backgrounds of the pages which are in colour. Colours are also used in the text to highlight certain words.
